Antenna Recommendation - 07039

purchased winegard HD 7698P through "ZIP installations." my zip code is 07039. I only receive 7-1,2,3, and 63-1,2,3,4,5. Both of my LCD 720 TV have ATSC receiver. Did I purchase the right antenna?

Unfortunately, there is no way to give you a accurate report without a home address.

Let me explain,

In your area, you have both low VHF signals and also high UHF signals.

The way you receive those signals will depend on where you place your antenna, how high up off the ground it is, how high other buildings and trees are around your antenna. If there is anything blocking your signals like a hill or a building 4 or more stories high. Where you live is very important. Are you using a antenna rotor?

Good morning Michael -

Just a few questions for you...

#1. Did you have ZIP Installation run do the site assessment and installation? If you did pay for this service I believe they make sure you are receiving as many channels as possible during that installation.

#2. How long is the cable run from the antenna to the 2 tv's? This is going to 2 tv's only correct? It is possible you need a pre-amplifier.

Recommended Pre-Amplifiers
If you have an extended cable run from your antenna to your television set or are providing signal to multiple television sets your antenna may need a Pre-Amplifier.

#3. Is the antenna mounted in the attic? If so you will lose 50% - 90% of your signal depending on the style of roof/building.



In general I would say you should be receiving more channels and probably all of your channels with that antenna. There must be some other issue in your exact location that is making the difference. Either it is in the attic, has a long cable run with multiple televisions and needs a pre-amp, or you are shooting into a hill or tree line.
