Wingman addition question

Don't know who to ask but I am having a problem figuring out how to get clearance on my Sensar III antenna to add the wingman snap on addition.

I don't have enough clearance on one side and will have to shift the head to the other side of the aluminum supports in order to have room for the Wingman. Can't see nay way to do it. Any ideas from the experts?

Unfortunately, there is no solution currently available for this situation.

In that case, how would trimming one of the poles on the wingman affect the reception. Would I be better off to just forget it?

If it almost clears, you can take off the entire first element all the way back to where the plastic touches the 2nd element. You will still get about 75% of the gain. If you just need to trim 1/2 of the outer most elements, that will work just fine with very little effect. I have never tried trimming 2 of the 3 elements but I suspect that this would not be a worthwhile venture.

Thanks, I will try it and see what happens. Some one gave me the Wingman when they no longer needed it and I was hoping it would be a life saver for my weak signal conditions in some remote locations.

My long ago military radio experience reminds me that antennas are tuned to certain frequencies and modifying them can have some strange effects.
