Model RV-6004 Batwing Antenna

Postby jnorris » Fri Jun 05, 2009 3:21 pm

Good Day,

Can some one tell me if the RV-6004 antenna is Digital ready, i am assuming not since my trailer is a 2002. If it is not, which model antenna will i need if i currently have the booster switch on the cable plate inside the trailer.

Thanks,

Jim

The RV-6004 is digital ready.

You will most likely need a digital converter box for your TV. The signal is basically the same so your antenna will be fine but you will need something that is able to translate the 1's and 0's to picture and sound for the TV.

Good Day,

The reason i asked is that i attempted to use an RCA ATSC converter box Model #DTA800B1 and with the booster "ON" it scanned and caught 13 channels but then the converter box locked up and i had to unplug and start over. I then Scanned with the booster "Off" and it did not catch any channels. Could it be this converter box??

Thanks

The booster is actually a power supply, without it the signal can't get through the amplifier in the antenna head.

I have added a set of diagrams to this post so you can make sure you have the converter wired in correctly.
