Mirror images on TV1 and TV2

We have a 2007 Itasca Horizon 40 TD motorhome with a new HD Winegard Trav'ler (slimline) motorized 5-LNB dish, a Winegard Sensar motorized off-air antenna, Winegard switching box, and a "RiverPark HT Switching System". We also have an Apex DT250A Digital Converter Box. We are connecting to two TVs (HD TV Aquos in living area, 20" non-HD Sharp lc20sh3u). We subscribe to DirecTV HD service and have a HD DVR and a standard (non-HD) receiver in the coach.

When hooked to DirecTV Sevice (switchbox set to SAT for TV1 and TV2) with signal only to the DirecTV HD Receiver we get a mirror image of TV1 on TV2. If we switch TV2 to the off-the-air antenna at the switchbox we can get separate channels. How should we connect TV2 to get its own channel reception? What do we have wired wrong?

As a work around we are planning to hook the DirecTV standard SAT reciever directly to the bedroom TV2 using the "cable" IN on the switchbox. Do you think this will work?

ALSO, relating to the Apex digital converter box, I thought we only had to put the coverter box between the antenna and the switch box, run the scan, and it would work. Again, we are getting a mirror channel. Does TV2 needs its own converter box directly to TV2 AFTER the switch box?

Help on wiring to rid the mirroring image and using the various receivers and switch boxes is welecomed.

A receiver, whether DIRECTV or the converter box, can only output one channel at a time.

This means that if your satellite receiver is not a DUAL TUNER receiver you will only get one channel at a time from it. If you have a DUAL TUNER, you will want to run a separate coax for each TV.

The converter box is the same. Since they do not make dual tuner converter boxes, you will need one for each TV that does not have an ATSC tuner built in. (Check your manuals but your HD TV should have this tuner built in and shouldn't need a converter.)

I think we resolved the mirroring image by connecting the second DirceTV receiver to the AUX IN on the Winegard switch box. We connected the digital conversion box to the switch box ANT IN can now get off-air using TV2 ANT and the satelitte image thru AUX.

Be careful using the ANT IN port. If you have 12V going to your video switch this can damage your converter.
