VS-0604 instalation

My motor home only has one input on the exterior. So I have to select satellite or cable.
Using satellite the input goes to the DTV box then back to the VS-0604. then out to the TV
When I use cable in it also goes to the DTV box and back to the VS-604. This does not work.
Is it possible to put a switch inline before going to DTV. Or is there another way to make both work?

the wire diagram does not address my problem anyone else have any ideas?

That diagram will show you how it should be setup. You cannot have any device between the satellite antenna and the receiver so you must not use a switch or a splitter in between.
