Picture Interference

We have 2 TVs, 2 converter boxes, a splitter box, an antenna booster and a Winegard antenna. Prior to the conversion to digital everything worked perfectly, Digital came and we added the converter boxes. The rear ( bedroom ) TV works perfectly---the front ( living area ) has sound but the picture is terrible. It acts as though the vertical hold is messed up and it has a swath of white lines that make their way through it. When we get to a campground that has cable both TVs work fine and the converter boxes are in pass through mode. We have switched the boxes thinking it might be something wrong there but what was TV front worked fine in back. We have removed and cleaned all the connections and switched cables from front to back.

WHAT HAVE WE MISSED? i WOULD LIKE TO WATCH TV IN THE LIVING AREA!!!

Here is the response from technical services...

If the converter box worked when you moved to the back TV set area I would think the converter box is okay. Try the moving the converter box from the back TV to the front location to see how it works. From your description it sounds like the problem is with the power outlet up front that your converter box or TV set is plugged into. Run an extension from the back of the coach plugged into the same outlet that the working converter box and TV set are using to the front area and plug your converter box and TV set into the extension cord to see if that eliminates your noise.



Another thing to check for is to make sure that you do not have an electrical fan of fluorescent light than can be radiating electrical noise close to the front TV set area. Turn off any of these products if you have them and then on one by one to see if your interference comes back.





Check all of your coax cable connections and make sure they are good and solid. Make sure none of your connections are of the TWIST on coax connectors which can give you connection problems.
