Metrostar MS 2000 signal loss

Postby windslam » Fri May 28, 2010 8:08 pm

Hello,

I purchased my MS-2000 antenna on January 25, 2010. I consider it the best antenna I have ever used. However, last week I noticed I was not receiving my channels 3 through 13. I thought it may be a temporary situation and would go away but it didn't.

I have the antenna mounted in the attic. I went up there and disconnected the MS 2000 and connected a set of cheap rabbit ears and all my channels came back. I suspect the preamp has gone on the fritz.

I know I am just a few weeks outside the 90 day warranty period but was hoping there is some way you could help me? My first thought is if you could sell me the internal preamp circuit at a reasonable cost that I could replace with the old one?

I paid $153.00 dollars for this antenna and can't afford to get another one right now. That works out to about $40.00 a month and cable (if I could get it) doesn't cost that much.

Thank you for any help you can offer, I really like the product when it is working!!!

It sounds as though for some reason your antenna has lost VHF side of the amplifier board built into the antenna head. Email a copy of your receipt to warranty@winegard.com with a description of the problem and they will issue you an RMA number to use to return the MS-2000 under. Winegard will repair or replace the antenna to you at no charge under the normal 90 day warranty.

Thank you for your reply.

As I mentioned, this unit is a week beyond the 90 warranty period. Is it possible I could purchase the card at a reasonable cost or do I need to return the unit to Winegard and pay for a repair?

Thank you.

I would recommend emailing warranty and seeing what they can do for you. They typically will work out a very cost effective solution for you.

This is a follow up to my previous post, for the benefit of those who view this one.

The Winegard Customer Service Reps. are fantastic!!! They actually did take an interest in my above problem and quickly resolved with minimal effort on my part!!!. Anyone can take your money but follow up service and genuine concern for your satisfaction are hard to find. I'm sold on this company and it's employees!!! I highly recommend the product also.
