AP-8275 pre-amp

Postby kenjroy » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:30 am

I have a Wineguard HD7697P antenna mounted on a 40 foot tower, and want to install a Wineguard AP-8275 pre-amp. Will the pre-amp be harmed if I install a signal splitter in my antenna downlead coax (for second TV) ahead of the pre-amp? I assume, in that case, pre-amp DC voltage would travel to the mast-mounted pre-amp and also to the second TV set (through split coax).

Good morning Kenjroy -

I don't believe it would be harmed, but your signal will be. You will want the pre-amp and power ahead of your splitter on the antenna side.

Antenna > Pre-Amp > Power > Splitter > TV's
