Using a Grounding BlockI am aware that antennas should be grounded to protect from electrical surges, but does having your antenna grounded help out in other ways, such as improved signal strength (gain), cleaner signal (noise) or something else?
Re: Using a Grounding BlockGood morning otaer -
Grounding a TV antenna only protects you from lighting. It does not help or hinder the picture quality if your TV signal.
Re: Using a Grounding BlockWould it be beneficial (e.g., increased gain, decreased noise) to ground the coax cable?
Can I use the GB-8100 do this?
Re: Using a Grounding BlockVHF analog signals followed the surface of the earth.
Yes a grounding block helped improve reception. UHF is line of sight, at the most, the grounding block helps to shield some interference - if you did not use Quad Shield cable. It's always a good idea to use a ground block, because it helps to keep the lightning outside the house. Any splitter with a ground lug will work for a ground block!
Re: Using a Grounding BlockThe GB-8100 is the product used to ground the antenna coax cable. Grounding the antenna coax will not reduce noise or increase or decrease gain.
