samsung all channels sony doesnt?installed 7696 winegard antennae our samsung gets all channels but sony doesnt ! currently less than 40 miles fromtransmitter have signal splitter both tvs have built in converters do i need pre amp? TVs are less than 3 years old and used new shielded coax. why would one tv work great and other only get some channels? suggestions appreciated thanks for any input
Re: samsung all channels sony doesnt? The difference in amount of signal required by each TV set could be a facture. The problem could be in the cable loss in the line going to the Sony TV set being higher than the other TV set’s line. Try switching the cables at the splitter to see if there is still a problem. Try replacing the splitter since it is possible that the splitter may have more loss on one side then the other. Go from the TV antenna directly to the Sony TV set and bi pass the splitter. This will give you about 30% more signal and see if that helps. Adding an amplifier such as a Winegard HDA-100 should help over come your splitter and cable losses.
