new AP8275 provides no signal

i just installed a new AP8275 pre-amp to replace a Permacolor 10G212 which died on me. i purchased the AP8275 on 5/11 and tried to install it today, 5/13. the Permacolor was used for years. i replaced the coax at the antenna and from the antenna also before the installation. i have a Sansonic convertor box which shows signal strength and signal quality. after installation, i got no channels and saw all zeros via the Sansonic tool. i added an amplifier after the AP8275 and still got all zeroes. so i read this forum and saw a voltage level, +15VDC, for the pre-amp from the power supply. i added a short coax to the to pre-amp connector and checked the DC voltage output with my multi-meter and got zero. i assume that this is my problem.? is there anything else that should be checked? how do i return this if it's what i need? the seller is not listed as a weingard seller although i'm sure they were in the past. they are a local electronics store which used to sell parts and now sells components and TVs. so, if they don't exchange this or return it if this is the problem, what do i do? thanks.

i went back to the seller and explained my problem and discussion on the forum. he gave me a new power supply. i was happy until i asked him to check it's output. he did and got 0 VDC as i had on the original. he checked the original and confirmed 0. so he put the meter to AC voltage and it read 15.3. he did the same with the new one and it read ~15 volts AC. he said take the new one and try it. as expected it didn't work. i had looked at the video and it said expect VDC but i noticed that it showed a 2 piece power supply and cable. i have a single component brick. so what is your recommendation now?

you were so prompt to my first query that you spoiled me to expect a response by now. if i wasn't clear, my last question could be answered in a number of ways,e.g., the amplifier is bad and this is a different power supply, so replace the amp, the power supplies were not manufactured correctly, the wrong power supplies were packed. so, which is it? and, which should be replaced, returned?

The power supply output to the antenna/amp should be around +15 VDC per the video, regardless if it is a self-contained unit (Channel Master also offers this style) or if it is the power supply to coax cable to power injector as in the video (I have this style for my 8725). 0 VDC, regardless of the AC voltage, will not power the amp. It is not unusual to get a small amount of AC when the + 15 VDC is properly generated. It appears that the supply is still a culprit. Make sure the DC portion of the test meter works properly before making a final decision on that.

I learned from the video that the power injector has a voltage regulator to limit the volatge to +15 VDC. This is because the wall plug-in is a crude DC output that is unregulated and they usually run high under light loads in order to meet their specs under full load (over +20 VDC per the video example).
