Signal Distribution to Multiple TVs

I just purchased a Clearstream 2 antenna from Costco this afternoon. I have a moderately-sized single story home in Dallas with 4 HD-ready TVs. What kind of splitter would give me the best results for VHF & UHF programming on all sets? In fact a specific splitter model would be WAY helpful. Under what circumstances should I consider an amp/preamp and if recommended, where would I place it (i.e. before or after the splitter)?

I bought a Clearstream2 HD antenna at Costco today. I live in a North Dallas suburb (zip = 75287) in a single story house. My plan is to put it on the roof. Should I put it at the highest point? What direction should I face it in wanting to receive the most lower-band channels possible?

I bought a Clearstream2 HD antenna from Costco today. However, it appears that Costco & the Winegard site no longer shows that model. It appears the FeeView is replacing it. Is there a difference? Should I consider trading Clearstream for FreeView?

The Clearstream 2 is designed to receive UHF channels 14-51 only so we do not know how well it will receive VHF channels 8, 9, and 11 at 30 miles. Also, Winegard does not manufacture this antenna and it is made by a competitor.

The Winegard FreeVision FVHD-CO is designed to receive Real VHF channels 7-13 and Real UHF channels 14-51. In the Dallas/ FT Worth area you have Real VHF channel 8, 9, and 11 which the FreeVision should receive since it is rated as a 30 mile antenna. I would much ratter see you step up to the Winegard HD7694P antenna that is rated for 45 miles and will receive a stronger signal for you.

Good TV reception is based on the TV antenna being installed at least 30 feet high above the ground. The front of any TV antenna you decide to use should point approximately 190 degrees to the south/southwest.

In your case best antenna system would be the use of an AP-8700 preamplifier on which ever antenna you decide to use. From the preamplifier your downlead cable will go to the ANT connection on the power injector that comes with the AP-8700 preamplifier. From the to TV connection of the power injector, you will run a short coax cable to the input of a Winegard SP-1004 4 way splitter used to split your signal to the 4 TV sets.
