HPD269 FailureI bought an HPD 269 Pre amp. I installed it in June and it failed in August. I noticed the light on the splitter went out was out. So I've ordered a new PS-1403 AC Adapter. But shouldn't these make it through a year before giving up?
Re: HPD269 FailureGood morning SR.Russell,
The LED on the power injector indicates there is power leaving the power injector and going to the HDP-269. The LED going out can be caused by a number of different problems. If there is short in the coax cable between the preamplifier and the power injector the LED will turn off since the power injector has a poly fuse in it which shuts down the power if a short is detected. Disconnect the coax cable going to the preamp at the ANT connection. If the LED comes back on then the power transformer and power injector is good. If the LED does not come back on then the problem is with the power supply itself. You can go to www.winegard.com and on the home page go to the support tab and scroll to videos. Watch the video Troubleshooting a Winegard Power Supply which will show you the proper voltages at each point in you antenna system.
