AP8700 problem

AP8700 problemI just got an AP8700 to help with some weak stations. I have an 80-90' RG6 cable run to the antenna. When I install the preamp, I loose all stations. I've had one of these preamps before and didn't have trouble. I've triple checked my configuration. One unusual thing I noticed is when I plug the cable lead from the injector to the TV, the power LED dims significantly, almost as if something was shorted. I tried a different cable with the same result. What could cause this?
Re: AP8700 problemGood morning jasonhoskins,
The dimming of the red LED at the power injector is an indication of a short or high resistance to the power. Please visit http://www.winegard.com/videos/index.php and watch the video Troubleshooting a Winegard Power Supply. This video will show the proper voltages you should have at each location in your system. The PS-1403 should give you +14.3 VDC out of the ANT connector of the power injector and the PS-1503 should give you +15.3 VDC out of the ANT connection of the power injector.
Re: AP8700 problemThanks! I tested the power injector and it was putting out 15VDC to the TV, which it obviously shouldn't be doing. I contacted Hans, and was told to request an RMA. Looks like the problem should get resolved now. Thanks again.
