I have a Sensar GS2200 but do not have the 12V power brick or the triple-F connector device. Can I convert it to a GS1100? The unit does not seem to output anything via a straight coax connection to a TV, in spite of being in a moderately strong signal region (94747). I've confirmed the TV side with an old rabbit ear antenna. Thanks for your guidance.
The 94747 zip code on two separate antenna selection web sites would not compute so we are not sure if the GS-2200 antenna is the proper antenna for you application. If the GS-2200 does not have power to the antenna head you will have at least 85% or more loss to the signal trying to pass through the non powered transistors on the amplifier board in the GS-2200 head.
Winegard does not sell replacement antenna boards because there is no easy way to open the GS series of antennas since the antenna housing is ultra sonicly welded at the ends where the wings go through making it very hard to open. You can purchase a Winegard PS-1403 power supply and make your GS-2200 antenna a powered antenna again.
The GS-2200 antenna is rated for 35-40 miles and in your case you are at the edge of the antennas performance range. If you were to add the GS-WING UHF director kit you will improve your reception on the UHF channels. If size is not a factor the HD7695P or HD7696P antenna along with an AP-8700 preamplifier would give you a much stronger signal with less drop outs during weather conditions.
Which ever antenna you choose it needs to be installed a least 35-40 feet high or higher above the ground in order to receive a good strong digital signal at approximately 40 miles which your zip code of 95747 indicates you are from the Sacramento TV stations.
