Indoor urban area - need antenna recommendation

Postby galwithcurve » Sat Dec 03, 2011 1:20 pm

I'm looking for a recommendation for an indoor antenna in my area (Jersey City 07306-6950). The one station that is a problem for me is real channel 51 (PBS); it's 11 miles away and all the others are less than 5 miles.

Good afternoon calwithcurve,

The reason that you are having difficulties with channel 51 is the that transmitter is a compass heading of 336 degrees to the nothwest and all of the rest of your TV stations are at a compass heading og approximately 90 due east of you.

You will need an antenna that can receive TV signals in these two directions at the same time and the only antenna that Winegard has that is capable of doing that would be the MS-1000 omni directional antenna. Even with the MS-1000 omni directional antenna reception of channel 51 (50.1) may be difficult depending on the antenna location in the apartment and if you can get a clear view of channel 51’s signal or a relection of channel 51’s signal off a building near you.
