GS-2200

Postby bill_ballard » Fri May 22, 2009 3:39 pm

I was wondering if you think the GS-2200 would work for me.

I living in Frisco TX 75034. I'm about 40 miles from towers but AnttennaWeb.org says I need a yellow or even green for a couple of the channels I care about.

The GS says it works up to 45 miles. I think I will be able to get a clear shot of the towers on my roof.

Will it work?? I live in a neighborhood that restricts antennas (so size matters). But I did see a couple of houses in my neighborhood who had what looked like a Sensar on their roof.

Before I buy I just want to make sure.

Also should I get the Wingman?

The GS-2200 with the Wingman outside on the roof properly aimed should get you most of your channels unless there is something between the tower and the antenna to block the signal.

You might also be interested to know that restrictions against antenna's are not legal so they can not stop you from installing a larger antenna if you need one. The government has spent BILLIONS to make sure that everyone can get free TV. They are not going to let a neighborhood stop you. :)

Good morning bill_ballard -

I would also add that you will want to mount the GS-2200 at least 30 to 35 feet high. Adding the GS-WING (Wingman) will help your signals on channels 14-51 and I would recommend it at your distance.

Thanks for the help. I found out that the FCC says I can put an antenna up but I didn't want to rock the boat. I really like my neighbors and my neighborhood.

Again thanks for the advise. :D

To make a accurate post, you would have to tell us how high you are going to mount this antenna.

My guess is that it isn't going to work for you.

You would be better off with a good intermediate antenna.
