Which do i choose?

Postby kandjbrowning » Tue Feb 22, 2011 10:32 pm

OK i have a old 20 plus years antenna over the peek of my two story house so about 30 feet or so above the ground. I am looking at replacing the antenna. I have a few questions

I recive singal form the Harrisburg PA broadcast network and Baltimore MD I have a few channels that i get then loose and most time it will lock on then not but not enough for a picture could this be from competeing signals from the two broadcast areas? say CBS Harrisburg and CBS Baltimore.

So i plan to replace my antenna new set up will be about 30 ft above ground level on a rotor and connented through about 80ft of coax. Would it be better to go with a directionl antenna? below is a list of the station information that is in my area my location is 40.004154,-76.843722

Good morning kandjbrowning,

Looking at the stations you have listed it is definitely a possibility to go with an omnidirectional antenna. With an 80 foot coax run you will want to add in an amplifier as well.

I would move up to a directional antenna (and probably rotor) if you have obstructions that would cause issues. If you have a clear line of sight the 30 miles should not be an issue.

Thanks for your help there i belive that there is a fairly clear line of sight for most of the channels. Which antenna would you reccommend?
