I live in a canyon, and i am wondering if a home antenna system will work.
My line of site to the actual broadcasting towers is obstructed by the low foothills of my local canyon which lay between my locale and the main mountain peak, Mt. Wilson, where all of Los Angeles' broadcast towers are located.
I am 40 miles from Mt. Wilson. If you use google earth, you can see my situation clearly. I am in Las Virgenes Canyon: 4200 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, CA 91302. FCC pegs my signal strength for H-VHF signal at weak to no signal. If i did mount an antenna, it would be on the rooftop of my 2-story building, but kept low key so as to not disrupt my HOA.
Will a home antenna still be able to pull in a signal for me, or am i doomed to pay for direct tv just to watch the lakers kick NBA bootie this season?
Which antenna and any other hardware like a pre-amp would you recommend? Thank you.
