Antenna and mount questions

I have went through the antenna selection guide at antenna web and it indicates that I need a red (medium directional) outdoor antenna (ZIP 81039). We live in an area where all of the stations place their transmitters on top of a mountain and they are all on one compass heading 62 miles away. I should note that most of my stations show they could be received with a medium multi-directional antenna and we currently can already get many of the stations with an indoor directional antenna.

I am looking at a HD1080 (would this receive channels 5+?) unless it will not work for the channels in my area. My alternate choice is the HD7015 antenna. Also, would a DS-2016 or DS-3000 mount work well with these antennae?

Good afternoon hardykev -

Since your TV stations are over 60 miles from you will need a large directional antenna such as the Winegard HD7698P along with an AP-8275 preamplifier. This antenna will require a SW-0010 tri pod mount with an TB-0005 5 foot antenna mast. The HD-1080 and HD-7015 antenna will be too small. The DS-2016 and DS-3000 mounts are also too small.

For the record, and the posible benefit of those that may read this for their own situation.

I ended up going with what antenna web suggested and used a medium directional antenna. The HD-1080 is rated as a medium directional by Winegard and I bought it. For my situation, it works perfectly. I am now getting all of the broadcast digital channels.

In the end, you may want to just trust what antenna web tells you.
