Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without power

Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without powerI have a Winegard Trav'ler Dish 1000. When dry camping do I need to stow and re-raise the dish each time I want to use it? When I don't have the generator or inverter on, does it need to be re-set each time? Can I leave it in position without power and then when the power is restored will it stay all set up, or do I then need to power it down and raise it again? Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without powerKeeping it up with the power off involves by-passing a safety feature with the system and is strongly discouraged.

Re: Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without powerWould you go into a little bit more detail as to what the safety feature is?
Re: Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without powerThe unit si designed to stow itself when you turn the power off.
The TRAV'LER is pretty tall when it is locked on signal this auto-stow feature is an attempt to keep someone from driving with the unit up.
Re: Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without powerUnless something has changed, the unit certainly cannot stow when the power is off, and it won't stow when power is restored unless and until the unit itself is turned on (and I'm pretty sure it doesn't stow then either unless told to). My normal mode when dry camping is to power it up to deploy, and then shut it down until we're ready to leave.
Re: Trav'ler power - can i keep dish up without powerUnplugging the system bypasses the auto-stow feature which is the reason I am not a fan of unplugging the unit.
As long as you ALWAYS remember to stow the unit when you unplug it, you will be ok but you do run a risk by unplugging it that you can leave it up while you drive.
