Trav'ler and OTA stations

Postby lbethane » Wed Oct 07, 2009 4:03 pm

Does the Trav'ler for Dishnetwork find the over the air digital channels or do I need to use the batwing antenna to find them. I was my understanding that with the Trav'ler connected to my Dishnetwork receiver that I would find the OTA signals. Right now I cannot get that to happen.
Thanks,
linda

Just to clarify my question. What I am asking about is the local channels that are on the satellites. It was my understanding that the Trav'ler could pick up local channels. And if I understand your response, that is true. Will it pick up local channels anywhere in most major cities?

I am in Albuquerque and the Trav'ler satellite does not find any locals. Do I need a special setting?

Thanks,
Linda

Okay, I got it......Satellite is satellite and OTA is OTA. Then perhaps you should inform your Winegard service personnel at Camping World of this fact. You see when they install the Trav'ler , they told me that I would not need the batwing any more because the Trav'ler would bring in the local channels. Guess your service people need a lesson or two.

We have several people that do this sort of training. If you could tell me which store misinformed you, I will let the person responsible for that area know.

However, if you get your local channels from your satellite provider, the TRAV'LER will get these channels if you are using it inside the coverage area. It is a fairly easy misunderstanding.
