I have an MV-4000 Movin' View, which has worked well for over 4 years. It is now not working.
I have downloaded and printed the troubleshooting flow chart, and have found that:
1. Oval, 2 LNB dish selected (it wasn't at first).
2. 14.7VDC at the dish on the RG6 cable from satellite receiver.
3. Dish moves freely with power disconnected, both in azimuth and elevation.
4. Dish moves on AZ axis once all the way around until the sensor is tripped, then stops with no further attempt to search. I have left it in that mode for over 24 hours to make sure that the GPS had aquired.
5. GPS connection to PC board looks good.
6. Both motors seem to be operating, as the azimuth motor turns the dish 360*, the elevation motor keeps the dish locked in whatever position it was in when the cycle was initiated.
7. Motor connections to PC board checked, no visible problems, manipulated them to make sure they were locked.
I suspect it is the control board, but I'm not sure, also wondering that if there are three boards on there, if I have to replace all of them, or just the most likely defunct board.
I'm going on a trip and would like to have this working if at all possible, but it is looking like I need to upgrade the system to an HD ready/capable system in the near future. I'd like to hold off on this, but I would like to know what it is going to take to do this so that I can start planning.
Thanks,
Eric B.
