dish network and roadtrip sd help asap please!!

Postby SoCalKawie » Fri Sep 04, 2009 2:24 am

I took one of my dish network receivers from home, its a model 311 and I am trying to hook it up in my toy hauler for a trip this weekend.. I have several questions cause I can't get it to work..

1. Will it work without a phone line?

2. The roadtrip won't find the 119 satellite, I hear it rotating for a few minutes then it stops... I completed the test and it says unknown switch box and down lower no switch box installed and x's on 110 and 119. Any suggestions? I did switch the settings on the roadtrip to dish network...

3. I have 3 coaxial inputs, want to make sure I am using the right one.. one has a sticker on it that says DSS (I assume thats the right one), one is on the plate with a DC plug in and an on off button but when hooked up to that I get a buzzing noice in the dish network box I think that is hooked up to the regular antenna, and I don't know what the last one is, maybe an out to the bedroom... I have tried all 3 and no luck..

Any help would be appreciated!!

Yes, but you will not be able to use any of the automatic pay per view features without the phone line.

If this unit has never worked for you it could be set for DIRECTV. Look in your owners manual for how to set the switches under the dome. 4,7,8 should be down for DISH Network.

DSS is probably the correct one. You will want to talk to the people that installed those wires but I know for certain that the one going through the ON/OFF Switch will not work.
