Antenna Alignment

Postby DonS » Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:42 pm

The antenna on my coach dates from 1998, possibly a RD4600. Forgetful me, I left the dish up and drove off. Hit a tree branch and must have turned it. It wouldn't park. Got on the roof and turned it to park. Next time I tried to raise it, it would go up, but not find anything. When it wouldn't park, had to manually turn the turret again to park it. Now it won't do anything, just go so far and then sound like a gear is slipping. Can it be realigned with the Pinnical positioner, or is it shot and need to be replaced.

It could be either of the two...perhaps you could let a professional take a look at it?

Under normal circumstances, saintlypan's advice would have been correct but what you have is the RD-9946.

Winegard stopped making the RD-9946 in 1998-98 and very few professionals are likely to have seen one let alone remember it.

can you email some pictures of the unit from several angles to me at:

mobiletechhelp@winegard.com

and I will see if I can help determine where the damage is and whether the unit can be repaired.
