RS 2000 modified use

Postby Bill38 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 7:22 pm

I need omni direction to receive TV in my truck on overnight stops. My idea is to use RS2000 or MS 2000
antenna connected to an RV amplifier which is powered by +12V from cigarette lighter in truck. I think I can
connect the amp to +12V using truck cigarette lighter, RG6 coax to Antenna, set 1output to TV, TV to +12V cig connector on amp. Box the amp to protect the circuitry. I see it working.
Next part is MS2000 specs indicate it requires +15V. Will MS200 work on truck battery which should be +12 to +13.5V? Can Winegard assist on this question?

The RS-2000 and MS-2000 are functionally the same. They just come with different things in the box.

The reason the MS-2000 says to use 15V is that we send it with our PS-1503 power supply which is a 15V power supply. Both the RS-2000 and the MS-2000 will happily run off of 12V (or 13.5 in your case.)
