I am interested in purchasing and installing the Trav'ler DTV system on a Lance 1181 Camper. I looked at the installation instructions and per those saw limiitations on mounting with a 68" (??) from C/L to any obstructions on the roof. Is this due to the swing of the antenna? If so can the unit be raised somewhat to clear those obstacles (roof vents, etc)? I am looking at installing it near the front between the AC unit and the skylight.
The second question is, the AC required for this unit, can it be shut off once the unit locks in and is transmitting? I have a 12V DTV reciever that I may use when out in the "wild" and away from AC and also want to avoid invertors and Gen running. The rest of the time (in campgrounds) I will use AC to power an HD DTR reciever.
Thanks in advance from fellow members if they have experience with these units on a truck camper or from tech support who can help.
