Getting Winegard model GM-1518 to work with Direct Tv HD rec

I am trying to get my model GM-1518 to work with a DirectTV HD receiver. I am getting nowhere. Also the manual says I should remove the B Band converter from the receiver. What is this? Help.

The B-Band converter is a devise that DIRECTV uses for their HD satellites. Since the Carryout can not see these satellites it should be removed.

It generally is a 6" long box with coax connections on each end.

You will also want to make sure the receiver is set for a 2 satellite oval dish.
