More cable lenght for the carryoutThe Carryout comes with 50' of cable, can I add more, like 50' more of both the power cable and the sat feed cable. Are there limits to the distance that the unit will function. JDA
Re: More cable lenght for the carryoutYep
After you get to a certain distance, like 75 feet or something, you have to use a signal amplifier. The loss in the cable becomes too great to get a good signal.
Re: More cable lenght for the carryoutThank you KNP 2516,
The secret to this is actually the power cable. To get the right amount of 'juice' to the Carryout, the cables we used can not be more than 50' long. If you can find a way to weatherproof a power supply for the Carryout or plug it in further from the coach, you could run more coax. Generally the satellite receiver sends enough voltage to the LNB that the LNB can send signal back through 100' of cable without much problem. KNP is right though, if you exceed this by much you will start to run into issues getting a satellite signal and an in line amplifier may be required.
