How to wire an auto down cableIs there a wiring diagram for the auto down cable, cl-sk-34? Do I attach both the red, power wire, and the brown, ground sensing, wire or just one of them. Can the power sensing, red wire, be attached to the 12v control that turns the front TV off when the engine is running? Where would I attach the brown, ground sensing, wire? JDA
Re: How to wire an auto down cableThere is not an actual diagram as there are several options for this. Do you have the directions that come with the CL-SK34 kit?
These tell you what the purpose of each cable is and that should tell you where you can connect them.
Re: How to wire an auto down cableYes I have the instructions, but they don't tell me much. Do I need to conect both the red and the brown wires? The four wires are, orange not used. I understand. Black, ground, I understand. Red, power sense wire, assessory switched?? Brown, sense ground wire???? Help. Do I need to connect both the red and the brown wires? Yes or NO???? Or only one of them?? JDA
Re: How to wire an auto down cableOne of the reasons these instructions are intentionally vague about wiring this switch is that it is intended for dealers and coach manufacturers only.
This can be installed as either an ignition switch or a brake detect switch. When connecting the unit as a power detect you need to connect the red and black wires. When connection the unit as a ground detect you need to connect the brown and black wires.
Re: How to wire an auto down cableThanks for the reply. I shall attempt to make it work. I will conect all but the orange to something. JDA
