vanisle,

Bell changed footprints for their satellites and it will be very difficult to get service in the US at this point. You can see the footprints here:

That is correct. The receiver determines the switch using the signal from the satellites, so without any signal it will show it as no switch available.

Please let us know how things go once you get farther North. The 92 footprint has been gone from the US for sometime but the 82 "was" good. If the new footprints are accurate it's going to be a real deal breaker for many snowbirds. Shaw service is available all the way into Mexico and Bell disappears near the US border.
