Carryout 1518 to 2nd TV

I have the Carryout 1518 that we used in a 2002 TT with only cable hookup. My DH cut out side of TT next to DirecTV HR24 receiver and put in a new gang box so we could watch one channel and record another. It worked great!

We just bought a 2005 fifth wheel that has separate SAT and CABLE hook ups. Of course, I don't get a SAT signal through the cable hook up so I am only able to utilize one tuner, so now I cannot change channels while recording defeating the purpose of the dual tuner. I also cannot run my bedroom TV (and receiver) off of satellite because it only has the "cable" hook up there.

So, my question is....without my DH having to cut out the side of new coach, what can we do to gain the 2nd tuner again. Is there a way to change the cable hook up at the back of the coach to accept SAT? DirecTV tech that was in RV park today was no help.

You can bypass the cable connection if you pull the wallplate out, remove the coax on the jack labeled cable and then barrel connect it to another coax that goes directly to the receiver.

The reason you can't run through the standard cable connection is that the receiver sends communication voltage to the LNB, and it will not pass safely through the cable connection.
