Carryout 1518So i left Camping World with my new carryout heading to the house to set up and get familair with how it works. I put everything together went outside and realized i didn't have the adaptor to go from 12V to AC . So i went to radio shack and bought my adaptor. NOW i'm ready. So i set the satellite up configure my settings and it starts moving . And moving. And moving. What the heck! It will not lock on to a satellite. So i strat reading and it says will work with most. Is there a listing of recievers it will work with? I have an HD reciever. Do i have the wrong one? Can i use the one i got? Do i need a B-band converter? Please HELP! i would love to be able to use what i have and not go SPEND anymore money!
Re: Carryout 1518scjetb,
Sounds like you're working with DirecTV. Do you know the model of receiver you're working with?
Re: Carryout 1518No i do not know the number of the reciever at this time. I am at work but will look and try to set up when i get home. Is there a list of recievers that will not work and if so is there something i can get that will make it work B-band converter maybe?
Re: Carryout 1518scjetb,
Models H25, HR25 and HR34 are not compatible without additional equipment with the Carryout we recommend getting a compatible receiver. If it is not one of these three receivers, run a coax directly from the receiver to the antenna (bypassing any prewires) and run through the receiver configuration detailed at the following link: http://www.winegard.com/kbase/upload/re ... irectv.pdf
Re: Carryout 1518That is exactley how i have the reciever setup. The HD 25's and 34 are they the new recievers or older ones. I have had them maybe 2 years. Now i have a HD DVR. Will this one possibly work? I guess i will just have to see which onbe i have when i return home. THX for the help.. Might be in contact later though.
Re: Carryout 1518I have DirecTV HR24. It is also a couple of years old. This satellite works with this receiver. The only probably I am having is getting the 2nd tuner to work because my fifth wheel only has one satellite input. It won't work through the cable input. In my previous travel trailer my hubby put a direct connection into the wall to the receiver. I was able to watch one show and record another. I may have to do that with my 5er.
Re: Carryout 1518I firgured out the peoblem with mine. I had the wrong ac/dc adaptor. Not producing enough amps. I got the correct on e and locked in less than 15 seconds..WOOHOO!
Re: Carryout 1518scjetb,
Glad to hear everything is up and running. If you need future assistance, please feel free to post on our forums, email help@winegard.com or call into tech services at 800-788-4417.
Re: Carryout 1518WHOOOHOOO Good for you BUT I'm still having a problem and need abit of info; what do you mean by not enough amps? I set up exactly as you but I'm getting a 771 error which I called Winegard about but haven't received a call yet. I discussed this with Directv and they were stumped. One good thing they're sending a tech out to help at no charge. My AC/DC converter worked fine with my Dish Network receiver and the setup mentioned above connected to a satellite because it downloaded the guide but that's where everything goes south and no picture appears when I choose Watch DirecTV. My setup is an HR24-500 with the Carryout. FYI I've re-positioned the dome at two different locations and both are on flat terrain less than 20' from the roof dish which is about 12' higher in elevation. Ideas?
Thanks Cesar
