Noise from Roadtrip MiniMax

Noise from Roadtrip MiniMaxI have a rooftop mounted RoadTrip MiniMax antenna which I just connected to DirecTV. When I turned on the antenna to find the satellite(s) it found them but continued to make a searching noise after they were located. I had to shut off the antenna switch in order to make it stop. This is the first time I've used this antenna as I just bought the motorhome. I believe though, that this is supposed to be a moving antenna, not stationary. Any suggestions...?
Re: Noise from Roadtrip MiniMaxIt sounds like the coach you purchased came with an in-motion antenna. This antenna will be able to track the satellite even while you are driving but the side effect is that the antenna will not know that you have no plans to move when you first turn it on. The unit will continue to churn (sounds like a washing machine running up there) for 6-7 minutes and then go to sleep after it detects no movement.

Re: Noise from Roadtrip MiniMaxRamzfan,
Just chiming in to second what Bill said. What you're hearing is the conical search, which is the movement the antenna makes to allow it to track as it goes down the road. And again, to echo Bill, it will stop after several minutes of running and then go to sleep.
