I am considering purchasing a GM-1518 carryout antenna, will my directv DRD435RH receiver work with this unit ? Thanks

That receiver is so old that it will not be listed on the Winegard compatibility list anywhere. However, assuming the receiver is still in working order it should work with the Carryout to pick up the DirecTV SD programming from the 101 satellite. You could go into the receiver setup menu and select 18" round antenna before powering up the Carryout and allow it to lock on. Once set you should not have to repeat that as long as you don't change antenna types.
