Trav'ler Dish InstallationI have a 2011 Cedar Creek 5th wheel which is prewired with 2 coaxle cables and 1 power cable in a roof outlet for a Winegard Dish. I already have a Direct TV Slimeline SWM stationary dish and a HR24-100 DVR & a H25-500 reciever. I want to install a Winegard Trav'ler SK3005 on the roof. I believe the only way I can get the DVR & reciever to work with this dish is to have a SWM8 switch and the right power inserter. I seen where there is a kit sold for this setup. If there is would it work with the equipment I already have? The other question is can the SWM switch be mounted on the roof so I'm only using 1 cable and 1 power cable thru the roof. I seen where it could be mounted outdoors. But I seen another post that they avised against mounting it on the roof. What would you suggest? Thanks Jim
Re: Trav'ler Dish InstallationThe kit that Winegard sells is SWM-840 and I believe the price is $179.99 (or $169.99). The SWM8 switch would be mounted on the roof and comes with 4 short coax cables to connect the 4 output from the Trav'ler to the 4 inputs on the SWM8. You can see the wiring setup here.
