the dish network coverage map has me confused.is all the area with dots good for sat. 61.5 or is the gray wih dots good for 61.5 and 129 and the solid gray 129 only?

Where are you located? Where you see Yellow you can get 129. Where you see dots only you can only get 61.5. Where you see yellow and dots, you can get both.

i am in the midwest live in il but travel in rv a lot. i set my switches for eastern arc 61.5 so i should be ok right.

Yes, that should be OK. My personal choice is to set the dome to the Western Arc (110, 119, 129) unless you are going to be in the extreme NE or SE, but if it all works for you I would not change anything.
