Wall Plate/Switch Problems

Postby viz275 » Wed May 23, 2012 11:40 pm

I have a 2010 Keystone with (I think) a Sensar antenna. When it was new I made a bypass for the wall plate for Sat. I'm now finding out I don't think I needed to do that. Regardless, I recently got rid of the sat and replaced everything back to stock. The plate/switch seemed to be working fine before I started, at least the light was illuminating when the switch was depressed. I noticed that I had inadvertently bumped the switch to ON when I was moving cables around on the back of the plate. When I put everything back together, the light would not illuminate.

I assumed I had broken it, so I bought a new one. I connected everything to the new wall plate, and lo and behold the new one will not illuminate. I conducted continuity testing of the cabling before replacing everything to stock with the old plate, so I know I have my cables connected properly. I tested voltage at the plate and it reads +11.88v. This is the reading from the wires coming into the back. However, when I turn the switch on and read the voltage from the antenna coax input, it only reads +1.76v. By the way, the switch plates I'm working with are the RV-7012.

Any ideas? Thanks!
