I have a new 1518. The first time I used it (I only connect directly through a window) it took just over 24 hours to lock on to a satellite. In fact, after playing around for hours with my reciever settings, unplugging and plugging back in in every manner possible, I had given up. When I woke up the next morning, I discovered that it had finally locked on to a sat sometime during the night.
Because the location I had the dish was not convenient to other campers, I moved the dish to the roof of my tt. I knew in doing so I would lose the lock, but I assumed that because I positioned the dish in a very similiar way, it would just go through the checks and lock on again. WRONG!
After watching it go through transponder searches fo another 12 hours, I went to bed. I was hoping that through the night, it would lock on again like before. This morning, (it is 6:00am here) I discovered that not only did I not have a signal, but the outlets that the dish, tv and reciever are plugged into, no longer have power to them. The fuses and breakers are fine. I haven't a clue why these outlets stopped working.
The dish is pointed south. In fact, I have it pointed in the same direction as the other seven dishes around me.
Why is it taking this thing so long to find a sat? Any help would be appreciated.
