RT800S AND 211K

RT800S AND 211KWe have a RT800s unit and we are trying to get a 211k dish network receiver going on it, manual that came with the minimax says that we need to use a SW64 switch is that true? Also when we run a check switch test the only satellite that comes in is the 119, is there something else that we should be doing other then letting the dome find the 119 first? We have the SW64 hooked up and have ran numerous check switch tests and only get the 119 satellite to come in,there aren't any line of sight issues. Can you also tell us how old this unit is? Any help on this unit we be greatly appreciated.
Re: RT800S AND 211KWith the antenna powered off go into the 211K menu options and select 6>1>1 which will get you to the signal strength screen. Set the satellite option to 119 and the transponder number to 11. Now, power up your antenna and allow it to lock onto 119. Once this is done and you have a good signal on the screen, you have 6 minutes to accomplish the Check Switch routine (not 6 minutes to start it but 6 to complete it) so once the unit locks be sure to start the test fairly quickly. When you do this you should see a screen that shows test 1 of 1 for a minute or so and then it will start 1 of 38 and count up until it completes 38 of 38. When this is done you will move to a screen which should show the 110, 119 and 129, OK, OK, OK and the SW64 at the bottom.
If you want to give those instructions a try and let us know what you find we can go from there. One note: If you do the above and it does not work, the next step is to disconnect the coax from the receiver and perform a Check Switch. With nothing attached it will erase whatever is in memory and show "no switch found" or a similar message. You could then start over with the routine I describe above. Bill

Re: RT800S AND 211KThanks for the quick reply, yes we have done all this, I am actually a retailer for dish network, and have tried all of those steps and nothing has worked.
Re: RT800S AND 211KThe next step, after you have power cycled and locked onto 119 again, is to check Super Dish and Alternate and run another check switch test. It will now run test 1 of 50 and you should get a good SW64. If not you either have a faulty unit or an incorrect connection somewhere.
I am assuming that you are able to lock onto 119 and you are seeing a good SS number before you start the check switch. Bill

Re: RT800S AND 211KThanks for the info, I will try this. Thank you for your time on this...
Re: RT800S AND 211Kmataman_1,
Another thing to check is to make sure that the coax cable you are hooked up to is running to the main output on the base of the dome. If you have two cables running down and are not able to tell, you can swap them at the base of the satellite and try the procedure again. If you verify you are on the main output, I would recommend trying another receiver to see if it happens with that as well. A few other questions for you: Does it put in a 2nd/3rd box with xx where 110/129 should go? Do you hear the dish toggling when running the checkswitch (you may need to remove the dome and watch the satellite while running the test to see if it moves at any point)?
