RV batwing antenna

Postby clarklewis » Wed Apr 29, 2009 10:56 pm

I have a 1999 RV with a batwing amplified antenna that is not working properly. When the power supply is on, there is 12v at the connection to the antenna on the roof. I looked inside the antenna head and there is a circuit board. I am not sure what is normal so I will just tell you my observations. If the power supply is off or on makes little difference. I cannot get any digital channels.

When the coax from the antenna is disconnected from the power supply and connected directly to the hdtv, I get some digital channels but not all that I should be able to get.

From reading other posts, I think I need to replace the antenna head. Is that correct and if so, is the "Sensar IIĀ® Replacement Antenna Head" a suitable replacement?

Since the signal thru the power supply is not as good as a direct connection from antenna to tv, does the power supply need replaced too?
