New MP1

Postby tedward1555 » Mon Apr 26, 2010 3:39 pm

I'm having a terrible time finding a signal with the new MP1 from Winegard. I'm hoping to find some helpful suggestions here... or maybe I have a faulty unit. I have only been able to get signal for about 30 minutes at one location last week. Since then,,, nothing at all RV camps we've been at.
Thanks

We are working on a quick reference guide to try and help with this.

In the mean time,

Make sure that you run the coax directly to the back of the receiver NOT through a port on the coach.

Make sure you set the unit on a level surface. The more off level the unit is the harder it will be to find a signal.

Make sure you take the compass out of the unit and find North. Once you know where North is you can find your Azimuth (compass heading).

For DISH Network use transponder 13 to search as not all transponders are active nation wide.

Make sure that you do not have a "SKEW" or "TILT" angle listed in your look angles. If you do this means that you are being given look angels BETWEEN two or more satellites and not directly AT any satellite.

It might also help to call us to let us walk you through the process until it becomes natural.
