question regard satelite hook up / winegard antenna

Postby swansong04 » Sat Feb 06, 2010 3:05 pm

we just bought a new trailer with the winegard dtv antenna on it and it runs into what i assume to be a rv-7012 wall plate.. it is the one with the 12v plug plus the little switch with the green light ..
my question is does this have to be changed out in order to use satellite tv i was trying to hook my dish up to the coaxial on the outside of the trialer but it doesn't seem to work ...
thank for any info

Most RV wall plates are designed to block the satellite signal. This is done to protect the Park Cable system from the 12-18 VDC the satellite receiver sends to the satellite dish. To use the external wall plate for satellite, you will need to by-pass the wall plate on the inside of the coach.
