New Direct TV sat recieverI just installed a new Direct tv reciever model D12-500 on my coach with a Roadtrip LP-1000. The system setup on the reciever does not have a 2LNB antenna option. Anybody know what antenna and switch option to select?
Re: New Direct TV sat recieverTry either:
Round or 3 LNB (18x???) can't remember the last part of this one.
Re: New Direct TV sat recieverI have an Directv reciever in my garage that doubles as my coach reciever. When I put it in my coach I found that if I leave it on 5 LNB and it works just fine ( I have a road trip in motion dish). Hope this helps.
Re: New Direct TV sat recieverThe switch answer is simple: multiswitch. The sat answer is way more complex. However, the short answer is that "3lnb (18 + 20)" is probably the best selection. Theoretically that allows the selection of directv's 101, 119 and 110 sats. However, since the 119 sat only has HD programming, neither your dish or SD receiver can or will select it. Selecting "round" means you will be limited to just the 101 sat. If all your programming is on 101 (possible) - then no problem.
"Overselecting" something like "5lnb slimline" means you may see "searching for satellite" for a channel selection rather than the selection being blocked out by the receiver - ie same result. -mick
Re: New Direct TV sat recieverI use my extra reciever in my mobile unit--can I set it up to recieve local channels? Right now , all I get (when set up as '18"round') is standard programming.
Re: New Direct TV sat recieverThe answer depends on which satellites your local channels are on.
Can you tell me which city your channels are intended for?
