Loss of signal during rain

Postby tschut01 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 12:55 pm

I have an old motor home with a batwing antenna. Every time it rains, I lose significant signal strength. I've replaced the power supply, and checked for 12v at the end of the coax. What should I try next?

From the information I have, I would guess that you have a loose or bad coax connection somewhere between the antenna and the wall plate.

If water gets into one of these it will weaken the signal and corrode the connection. Generally the 'problem' connection will be pretty obvious once you take it apart.
