Hi,
Hope you can assist me with my problem.
I have a RV-6004 installed on my 2006 travel trailer. We bought a new digital TV and are trying to get it to work. TV works fine in the house while connected to cable. However, when in the trailer, the TV picture freezes frequently and fades out. You can monitor the digital signal from the TV, and it appears to be intermittent, strong one minute, weak the next, then no signal for a while, then back to a signal again. There appears to be no pattern to the signal fading in and out. I also hooked up the DTV conversion box and it could find no signal at all. I live in a city so I assume the signals are not fading and the problem is in my system.
I checked the voltage at the antenna and it gave a reading of 13.6 Volts DC, which I assume is normal (this is the voltage output when the trailer plugged into shore power). The owner's manual tells me I should replace the antenna assemby. Can you please advise before I lay out the money for a new antenna?
If I need a new antenna, which would be the best choice for the replacement head? Most of the time we spend in the trailer is in the mountains I assume with weak digital signals. I would like the new antenna to be able to fit in the existing mount on the trailer so I do not have to replace the entire assembly.
Thanks in advance.
DAN
