Dish won't quickly find sattelite quickly.

Why does it take my AS2003 Satellite dish hours or days to find a satellite? Why does it quit locked on an azimuth of 145 degrees when it needs to be on azimuth 220 degrees to find satellite 110?
I’ve tried every trick I know but I am frustrated. Monday when I was camped in Kansas City it took 4 hours and repeated park and shut down plus turn off of the Dish Net receiver to finally find and lock on the satellite. I moved home Thursday and now it won't lock on to the satellite. I feel like I need to change to another dish company and program provider.
