Is there a way to identify the model number of a mobile bat-wing antenna?

Yes,

The first thing is to determine which version of the housing you have. Is to look at the antenna in profile.

The Sensar 1 and 2 are basically the same, a symmetrical oval with wings sticking out the sides.

The best way to determine which antenna you have for either of these is to look at its bottom...
There will be a "W" shaped hole in the bottom, look in this hole. If you see:

A circuit board you have the RV-3090 or RV3090A(they are all basically the same antenna)
A mini-coax cable (a fairly thick wire) you have an RV-6004.
One or two tiny wires or nothing, you have an RV-5090 or RV5090A.

the RV-3090's are amplified
the RV-6004 has a smaller amplifier
the RV-5090's are not amplified and you have an amplifier somewhere in the RV.

If you have the airplane wing shaped antenna you have the Sensar III

If you have this one, if the wall plate for it says "Amplifier" you have an RV-5095
If not you have an RV-3095.

RV-2001's are replacement heads for RV-3090's
RV-2005's are replacement heads for RV-3095's
