Carryout ?Re: Carryout ?GM-1200 suggested retail: $34.99
and should be in stores about the same time.
Re: Carryout ?I'm finding the Carryout available for pre-order in a number of locations but so far no one has any info on the GM-1200 power inverter... Solid Signal has replied to me in an e-mail that they have the Carryout's up on their site but they have no GM-1200's on order.
Am I correct in that if I need to run the Carryout off of standard electrical current from the camper I'll need one of these inverters?
Re: Carryout ?It may be a day or so before the GM-1200 information gets to everyone. We sent it last week... towards the end of the week.
To run the Carryout, you will need a cigarette power socket that meets the requirements posted below: Power Supply Specifications:
DC Voltage tolerance 2 – 5% over from 0% to 100% of rated load Typical Min. Current Range 5 -6 amps Ripple and Noise Max. 100mV p-p AC Input Voltage Range 100 – 120VAC Frequency 50-60 Hz Operating Temp. 0C to 50C Integrated Cigarette Receptacle
Re: Carryout ?
Sorry to seem dense here but if I get the inverter too I simply plug the cigarette power socket into the converter and then can run off standard electrical power...correct? The cigarette power thing isn't going to work for me as I pull a 5th wheel with a pick-up truck. Once in a site with the Carryout up and locked to a signal it would be a big pain to keep un-plugging the cigarette lighter jack anytime I want to run somewhere with the truck... I'll want to plug it into the external electrical plug at the camper and be done with it.
Re: Carryout ?You are correct.
I was just stating that the GM-1200 is not required, it is just one of the AC/DC Power Converters that we found that meets the requirements.
Re: Carryout ?No, this will not work. I do not have the specs for this but I have seen similar supplies to this and this would not have a high enough current rating. I think we specify at least a 5 amp supply. This may be 1 amp or a little more.
Re: Carryout ?That one should be fine.
Re: Carryout ?I've finally placed my order for the Carryout. Seems that other than Camping World it's reflecting as on back order pretty much everywhere. Did some dealers get priority over others on distribution? I placed my order with solidsignal.com and they say 3-4 weeks back order...
I got a good price so I'm OK to wait...just curious.
