VS 0503 problem??

Our TV selction box(?) has always worked well..until this trip. Upon arrival we connected to the parks cable system. Nothing. I then activated the satellite but the TV would only show the OTA antenna (power was off).
I had to connect the TV to the Sat receiver via rca cables to watch TV. Do these selector boxes fail?
The coach was built in 2003.

The boxes can fail but usually not suddenly. You will want to troubleshoot your connections before you declare the unit dead. On the back of the box you will find clearly marked coax cables indicating Cable in, Sat in, etc. as well as Out to TV1 and TV2. Remove the connection that not working (Cable In as an example) and remove the connection to the closest TV (likely TV1) and then use a barrel connector to connect the 2 ends together by-passing the box entirely. If you now get a good picture on the TV the box is bad. If you still do not get TV then you have a problem somewhere between the source and the box.
